Best salted French onion soup in the world.

The Metropole have two types of French onion soup. The salted caramelised French onion soup is excellent (the onion soup without a cheese top - see photo). Vietnamese and French cuisine at its most spectacular.

A legendary hotel-not to be missed

The hotel has a legendary history. There are several interesting posters detailing the history and there is a tour of the hotel bomb shelter. The hotel is in a great location. It is a grand old hotel so if you like modern style it’s not for you. I’d gladly stay again and hope to return

Good interior design, staffs are friendly and place is so convenient. Historic hotel and many good decoration for photo taking. Although the guest room is not so big but full of old England style and hotel is neat. Breakfast is delicious and the front desk staffs are so helpful

Great hotel. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was lovely for us travelling with our teenage son - he welcomes some privacy from time to time. Lovely location. Fantastic service. We’ve changed hotels to return at the end of our trip.

Excellent stay, lovely check in experience and beautiful room. Good location for opera house and only 10 minute walk to the tourist areas. Breakfast was excellent as were the macaroons in the room!! Slightly on the expensive side, but well worth the money for a taste of luxury.
