This was a pleasant surprise. Great location, really lovely cafes just outside, easy access to metro. The rooms are small, but functional. Very comfortable bed, hot shower. No frills, but all that was needed for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Pleasant lobby/ bar.

Dreadful hotel, terrible staff

The toilet in my room was broken so the manager suggested I change rooms as they did not have any maintenance staff available to fix it. My second room was opposite the lifts and all night I was kept awake by the ‘ding dong’ of the life arriving. It seems ridiculous to have this intrusive noise activated all night. Also, the walls are so thin that it sounds like the couple in the next room were having their conversation in my room. The attitude of the staff was dreadful; when I complained about my broken toilet, the receptionist said, ‘we’re a three star hotel, what do you expect?’ Shocking attitude. It’s a three star hotel, charging four star prices with one star facilities. Dismal, characterless and shabby with aggressive and rude staff. NEVER AGAIN!

This recently refurbished hotel is nicely situated with good metro access to all sites and amenities of central Paris. The rooms are bright and conveniently kitted out, with comfortable beds and decent sized bathrooms. The hotel restaurant provides a standard offering of breads, viennoiserie, scrambled eggs, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt, fruit and good coffee. Overall, no complaints, though it isn’t as cheap as many Ibis-branded hotels in less popular locations.

The hotel is located in a quiet area, close to Place de la Bastille and two metro stations, so it is a good base to move around Paris. When you enter the hotel lobby, it is like entering a winter garden - there are so many plants around! Also call other common areas were very good, so I got a very good first impression. However, my room was just OK, small and with barely the basics: the bed was comfortable enough, insulation from outside noise was good, air conditioning / heating was quite noisy and not at all effective. The bathroom was OK but quite small. Also the shower was small and it was not very comfortable. Bath towels were clean, but they smelled stale. Breakfast was good, with some choices available. Free wi-fi was good, too, and staff were knowledgeable and helpful. All things considered, a just OK stay.

Great Location but staff need training

Staff really need some decent training. Clearing plates away from us as we were eating because the 10.30am breakfast time had passed (it was 10.25am), refusal to check guests in until 3pm with no flexibility, and a general apathy towards helping people with minor problems. Yes, rooms were small, but not unexpectedly, and they were always clean and tidy. Great location.
